Our Go-To Green Juice

It’s no surprise that we jumped on the “green juice” bandwagon pretty darn fast. Hell, we might as well be the conductors! Buying a green-aid from a juicery can get quite pricey, so more often than not we make our juices at home. Here's a great recipe to follow:

Ingredients:

  • Handful of organic kale*, de-ribbed/torn

  • Handful of organic spinach

  • 1 inch/knob of organic, ginger, peeled**

  • 1 organic pink lady, cored

  • 1/2 lemon (rid of seeds)

  • 1/2 avocado (optional: this will give the juice a little more texture and also helps your body absorb the nutrients better)

  • 3 to 4 cups of water

  • Ice optional

Directions:

  • Put it all in a blender. BLEND.

When to eat it:

  • Really any time of day you can squeeze it in. It generally follows my hot lemon water in the morning. It’s also great as an afternoon snack.

SOME HELPFUL NOTES:

  • We rely mostly on the Vitamix to blend our juices. If we want the juice to be a thin juice texture, let the froth separate from the liquid while sitting in the container for a few minutes, and skimming the top off with a wooden spoon. This is the “poor man’s juicer trick”. You can also funnel the juice through a strainer.

  • If you want to make it more of a smoothie textured, add more ice, a banana, or an avocado.
